Safety first
- WARNING: Turn off the power by opening the circuit breaker or removing the fuses before you perform any maintenance; otherwise it may cause electrical shock resulting in severe injury or death. (pg. 26)
- DANGER: Before manually operating the relief valve, make sure it will discharge in a safe place. If water does not flow freely from the end of the discharge pipe, turn off the power to the water heater and call a qualified person. (pg. 28)
