Whirlpool Heat pump HPE2K60/80 error code LOWER ELEMENT CONNECT FAULT
What it means
Lower element is not functioning
What Whirlpool says to do
These steps involve electrical testing or parts replacement. Whirlpool's manuals tell owners to leave that work to a qualified service technician.
1. Turn off power at the circuit breaker/fuse box and check for a loose connection at the element. For access directions see "Heating Element Replacement" section. If error persists proceed to the next step. 2. Replace non-functioning element. See "Heating Element Replacement" section. IMPORTANT: Using an element greater than 2000 watts in place of the lower element will damage the water heater and void the warranty.
