GE GeoSpring DEEJS / DFEJS (2015–2016) error code F16
Anode Rod Depleted
What it means
Anode Rod Depleted (some models). The anode rod is approaching end of life and it is recommended to replace it to continue to offer protection from corrosion; the red light above the ANODE button illuminates and the control beeps.
What GE says to do
These steps involve electrical testing or parts replacement. GE's manuals tell owners to leave that work to a qualified service technician.
Call service, or follow the anode rod replacement instructions on page 12. Ensure the anode depletion sensing anode rod or other GE Appliances approved anode rod is installed; installation of an unapproved anode rod will VOID the warranty. Press ANODE once to silence; after replacing, press and hold ANODE for 10 seconds to reset.
