Bradford White · Heat pump RE2H (-1NCWT models)
Bradford White Heat pump RE2H (-1NCWT models) error code bAd linE (F12)
What it means
The voltage is too low at power-up. The control monitors the input line voltage 1 minute after power-up, and if the voltage is below 155V, the fault code will be displayed.
The manual says the control must detect this 1 time(s) before the code is displayed.
What Bradford White says to do
These steps involve electrical testing or parts replacement. Bradford White's manuals tell owners to leave that work to a qualified service technician.
Check electrical supply line connections. Voltage should measure within +10/-15% of either 208 or 240 VAC, depending upon power supply. Badline counts stored in "F12" and can be monitored via the Control when placed in diagnostics mode. Check heating elements are not shorted to ground.

Safety first
- DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE SERVICING. IMPORTANT: RECONNECT ALL GROUNDING DEVICES. All parts capable of conducting electrical current are grounded; grounding wires, screws, straps, clips, nuts or washers removed for service must be returned to their original condition and properly fastened. (p.1)
From the manufacturer's manual for this series.
